In connection with this release vocalist and songwriter Tobias Kippenberger says:
"On the one hand, Kids & Drunks was our artistic climax, with playful instrumentation and some of our best songs. But the record also ended up being our collapse as a group. And although I don't remember the time as particularly dramatic, there is probably some unsaid things and simmering, also in the music. For me personally, the record was a natural punctuation for 6 intense years, and I can't imagine a better way to go out."
